Terms of use (CGU)

Purpose

These terms of use (CGU) govern access to and use of the SailingLoc demonstration platform, which simulates a peer-to-peer boat rental marketplace connecting owners and renters. Conditions applying to bookings and payments are set out in the Conditions of sale (CGV).

Account and eligibility

Creating a demonstration account requires providing an email address and, for elevated roles, a phone number. All accounts and data are for testing only and may be reset at any time.

Roles

Renters can search for boats, simulate bookings and leave reviews after a completed rental.

Owners can list boats, manage availability and upload contractual documents.

Administrators oversee the platform. Roles are assigned within the demonstration only.

Acceptable use

Users must not attempt to misuse the demonstration, upload unlawful content or disrupt the service. Test data may be removed without notice.

Intellectual property

The SailingLoc name, interface and content are produced for academic purposes. Users may not reuse them for commercial ends.

Availability

As an academic demonstration, the platform is provided as is, without any guarantee of availability, continuity or freedom from errors.

Changes

These terms of use may change as the academic project evolves. Continued use of the demonstration constitutes acceptance of the current version.
