Conditions of sale (CGV)

Purpose and scope

These conditions of sale (CGV) govern the simulated booking transactions carried out on the SailingLoc demonstration platform between a renter and a boat owner, with SailingLoc acting as an intermediary.

Parties

The rental contract is simulated between the owner (seller of the rental service) and the renter (buyer). SailingLoc only provides the platform that connects them and does not itself rent out any boat.

Prices and platform commission

Displayed prices are indicative and expressed in euros, taxes included. For each simulated rental, SailingLoc records a 10% platform commission on the total amount. As the project is fictional, no amount is actually owed or collected.

Booking process

The renter selects a boat and available dates, then confirms the summary before payment.

A reservation is created with a pending status and is confirmed once the simulated payment succeeds.

Overlapping active reservations on the same boat are not possible.

Payment

Payments are processed through Stripe in test mode only. No real card is charged and no real financial transaction takes place. Any card details entered must be Stripe test values.

Cancellation and refund

Because no real payment is taken, cancellation and refund rules are simulated and carry no financial consequence. A cancelled reservation simply frees up the corresponding dates.

Right of withdrawal

Rentals scheduled for a specific date would normally fall under the exception to the legal right of withdrawal for leisure services provided on a set date. In this fictional context, this clause is illustrative only.

Complaints

As an academic demonstration, no after-sales service is provided. Any question about these illustrative conditions can be addressed to the project team through the course's official channels.
